Clinton P. Russell Elementary School To Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony For New Wing

Ceremony scheduled for Jan. 19

DALLAS–A ribbon-cutting ceremony for Clinton P. Russell Elementary School’s new 23 classroom wing will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19.

Dallas Independent School District officials Carla Ranger, District 6, Board Trustee; Senior Executive Director, Northwest Elementary Learning Community Gilberto Gonzalez; and Russell Elementary students, staff, alumni, and parents will participate in the ceremony. The South Oak Cliff High School JROTC cadets will provide the presentation of the flags, and the Clinton P. Russell Elementary School Choir will perform.

With the opening of school in August, the school transitioned from serving grades 4 and 5 to a prekindergarten through fifth-grade campus. The expansion and renovation, which made that possible, is part of the 2008 Bond Program, and includes a new library, science labs, and kitchen; an updated cafeteria; and a new playground.  The school is located at 3031 S. Beckley Ave.
