District To Dedicate 13th New School Under 2008 Bond Program
Ceremony to dedicate Oran M. Roberts Elementary scheduled for February 24
DALLAS—Dallas Independent School District officials will join students, staff and community members at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the dedication of Oran M. Roberts Elementary School. The event will take place at 6 p.m., Monday, February 24, at the school located at 4919 E. Grand Ave.
Dallas ISD Trustee Miguel Solis, District 8, will be joined by Superintendent Mike Miles, Dallas City Councilmember Adam Medrano, and Walter Humann, a representative from Jubilee Park and Community Center, to make remarks. The school’s principal Eneida Padro Colon will open the program and O.M. Roberts’ family member Mark Roberts will make brief remarks.
The Billy Earl Dade Middle School Leadership Cadet Corp will conduct the flag presentation. The ceremony will be highlighted by student performances from the O.M. Roberts Tiger Choir and the O.M. Roberts Dancers.
O.M. Roberts Elementary opened August 2013 and has the capacity to serve 810 students in prekindergarten through grade 5. The environmentally sustainable building encompasses 98,618 sq. ft. with 39 classrooms, and it is the 13th new school built under the 2008 Bond program.Download PDF verison:
